Diabetes and dental health

Did you know that diabetes can increase your risk of developing dental problems? Most people think of nerve pain, eye problems, heart complications and kidney disease as the major complications of diabetes but diabetic gum disease and periodontitis could cause major problems in your mouth. Here are some tips to preventing diabetic gum disease:
- brush your teeth for two minutes at least twice each day.
- floss once each day.
- visit your dentist every 6 months.
- make sure your dentist knows if you have diabetes.

If you have questions about diabetes and dental health, contact your local AuBurn Pharmacy pharmacist.
